Dr Chris Tsakalos is the founder of ChoiExpert, a hair transplant clinic based in Thessaloniki, Greece. He specialises in FUE hair transplantation using the CHOI implanter pen technique and has built a reputation for delivering natural-looking results through a doctor-led approach.

What Stood Out During My Visit
Several things immediately stood out during my time at the clinic.
- I observed four complete procedures over three consecutive days, representing almost 20,000 grafts transplanted.
- Hairline design was never rushed. Every patient received an individual plan based on their facial features, age and future hair loss.
- Dr Chris remained personally involved throughout every procedure, particularly during the planning, design and key stages of implantation.
- ChoiExpert is able to perform very large FUE procedures, including mega and giga sessions over two or even three consecutive days when appropriate.
- The clinic also offers beard hair extraction for patients who require additional donor resources.
- The atmosphere throughout the clinic was calm, organised and professional.
One thing that particularly impressed me was the quality of donor healing.
Even the day after surgery, donor areas appeared remarkably clean, and when I met one of Dr Chris's previous patients it was genuinely difficult to identify the FUE extraction sites. The donor management and healing I observed were among the best I have personally seen.
The Team Behind ChoiExpert
While Dr Chris leads the planning and key stages of every procedure, he's supported by an experienced team of doctors who work alongside him throughout surgery. During my time at the clinic, it was clear that everyone worked together seamlessly in a calm, friendly and professional environment.
Clinic Manager Konstantinos works closely with Dr Chris and is involved in patient consultations, helping patients understand the treatment plan and ensuring they feel comfortable throughout the process. He is supported by Nina, who is on hand to answer questions before and after surgery and provides an excellent point of contact throughout your journey.
The team also takes care of the practical aspects of your visit, organising airport transfers, hotel accommodation and daily transport to and from the clinic, allowing patients to focus entirely on their treatment and recovery.
Why I Rate His Approach
Dr Chris has developed his own refined approach to FUE surgery over many years.
His extensive experience using very small punches alongside the CHOI implanter pen allows him to perform large sessions while maintaining excellent donor preservation and precise graft placement.
Rather than simply chasing graft numbers, his emphasis remains on producing natural hairlines, strong density and results that continue to look natural as patients age.
Having spent several days observing him in surgery, it became clear that consistency, planning and attention to detail underpin everything he does.

My Thoughts
I've had the privilege of working alongside many respected hair transplant surgeons over the past 15 years, and each has their own strengths.
